Alfred Hitchcock’s film “Vertigo” (1958) is considered one of the best movies ever made
by Hitchcock. It is considered one of the critic’s favorites alongside Citizen Kane. The film’s
plot focuses on a man who falls in love with a woman who does not exist. He tries to mold the
real woman into the fantasy woman of his dreams. The woman ends up tricking herself into
falling in love with the man. The man eventually loses both women as he sticks to his preference
for the dream woman.
Hitchcock used the average human emotions and gave them characters to bring them to
life. He shows fear, guilt, lust, pain, and love among other emotions and developed those using
images rather than showing them using words with people being able to identify more with the
most frequent character used who is innocent and wrongly accused who is seen to go through
these emotions. There many repetitive qualities such as romance and color that are featured
throughout the film...
