Running head: CASE STUDY REFLECTION 1 Case study of Dungeon Master Ltd Student Name School Dated CASE STUDY REFLECTION 2 Reflection Based on the case study of Dungeon Master Ltd, the key difficulty facing the company is the desire to secure quick expansion. The instance illustrates that the corporation is in quest of rapid growth through expanded manufacturing of items. For instance, the case study demonstrates that Dungeon Master Ltd designs and manufactures over 30 different board games and others. Furthermore, enterprises must enhance advertising campaigns or sales teams, resulting in increased overall costs. In the same regard, a firm is likely to face a mix-up in its distribution channel. This is because distribution routes can cannibalize one another. Therefore, the firm's ambition to grow swiftly has brought inefficiency in the supply chain and reduced margins due to excessive expenses. In other words, the corporation has gotten too enormous to handle. This proposal aims to illustrate solutions to the existing dilemma. The current topic of discussion is not to discuss the case study but the skills that I developed during the study and analysis. The introduction of the case study was complex because the problem was related to marketing, quality issues, and inefficiency of the supply chain. I had no prior experience in solving such cases (Rubens, 2018). The first skill that was improved during the case study analysis was creativity. There were different problems in the case that I understood through creativity. My managerial skills improved a lot, and I resolved the case before implementing and discussing the solution. Creativity is essential for the case study analysis because it is observed that the situation has deteriorated in the company, and the identification of the problem was the primary concern. A creative mindset was necessary for resolving different issues in the case. There are numerous solutions to solve the issue that Dungeon Master Ltd is now dealing with. To begin, the company should move the production in-house. In the early stages of their operations, small businesses often outsource their production. However, it is crucial to move CASE STUDY REFLECTION 3 manufacturing in-house when sales are significant. There is a need to bring these tasks back inhouse because Dungeon Master Ltd currently outsources most of its production activities. Taking this course of action has several advantages (Peterlin, 2018). First and foremost, excellent products will be produced in-house. According to the study, Dungeon Master Ltd has a problem with product quality. In-house production allows the company to keep a tight grip on product quality while also allowing it to adapt to changing customer demands. Second, the company can benefit from a quick turnaround time by using in-house manufacturing. Fast delivery is ensured by a short turn-around time, which saves both time and money. As a result of these advantages, it is possible to respond to market shifts quickly. It was the first solution presented to resolve the issues, and while designing the solution, my researchbased skills improved. I had no experience evaluating the quality of products, but I researched with my team members why the problem existed? I had to complete the methodology part of the case, but I remained engaged with all the case's possible components and research-based features. I found that the quality of the product is such a defect that can only be identified through research. If a company is performing well and suddenly, the complaints arrive, the quality has issues. The quality of products is essential for the management to inspect. The company's product line needs to be rethought. The company is currently generating products, but there is no way to track its output. As a result, the company must consider genuine profitability from beginning to end. Net margins are the greatest way for Dungeon Masters Ltd to assess the profitability of their products. A portfolio's net margins are a good indicator of its health from a financial standpoint. Since the net margins consider costs such as R&D, distribution, and marketing, they account for both direct and indirect costs. Accurately tracking a product's profit is easier with absorption costing than ABC costing. All production costs are also taken into CASE STUDY REFLECTION 4 consideration. While deciding on the company's product, I was not attentive to the re-designing, and I realized that my concentration level was not smooth. I had to work hard to focus on the little components like concentration and team management, and I observed that the solution was presented to the team for product re-design. The product redesigning involves communication among the members. Our team also communicated a lot with one another. I have gained the confidence to treat the people and communicate with them. In the start of the case study analysis, I found that my communication skills were not strong enough to resolve the case alone. I always needed the help of my friends, but I observed them and communicated with them accordingly. I developed the methodology part of a project that is highly important (Nuñez, 2018). I adopted the following method to resolve the case; and it was my first experience, and I tried hard to convey the best possible solution to the company's management. The methodology further enhanced my research and analytical skills because the solutions are challenging to find and require proper research. Otherwise, the methodology and the solution to problems cannot be implemented. The case analysis has made me strong enough in the research and reading that I researched different papers. I continued working with the other team members to resolve the case and reach the outcomes. The consultants will use a six-step process to complete this project. The initial stage is to identify and meet stakeholders. Stakeholders, in this case, include the company's employees, executives, and business partners. There would be a need to discuss the project's timetable, budget, and expectations with the stakeholders. It is time to identify and prioritize objectives. Defining deliverables is the third step in the process. The formulation of the project schedule is the fourth phase. A risk assessment and issue identification are the final two steps in the process. To conclude, the project is handed off to its stakeholders. CASE STUDY REFLECTION 5 However, the corporation will need to provide a great deal of data. This will necessitate an inventory of all product lines and their respective specifications. Understanding the products and their performance in the marketplace. Product cost structure information is also necessary to determine profitability. Third, the company must disclose details on its direct and indirect distribution channels. An analysis of the distribution network can indicate areas for improvement. Other accounting processes, such as the costing approach, are also covered. Dungeon Masters Ltd.'s business procedures will become apparent to the consultant. These solutions were presented after thorough research, and I have found that the methodology is reliable, and it has groomed me a lot to resolve such cases in the future (Karttunen, 2018). Depending on how the procedure is carried out, several business outcomes might be expected. Reduced company costs can be achieved through simplifying corporate processes. Sales and marketing expenses, sales and distribution, and R&D expenses fall under this category. Second, only profitable products will stay in the company's product line. Third, the company will have the most efficient method of distribution. Last but not least, the business will be able to adapt to the shifting desires of its customers. The project's primary purpose is to reach a broad audience. However, Dungeon Masters Ltd. intends to use this initiative exclusively for internal purposes. In the same way, if the corporation does not disclose the necessary information for the project to succeed, it is doubtful that it will. Dungeon Masters Ltd may not infringe upon intellectual property rights. In the end, I would like to say that the case studies require attention and concentration. If a manager or an individual has the concentration, the other skills can easily be developed. The skill creation is an important part, and the case study also requires the proper development plan. I focused on the development plan of skills and the case to reach the outcomes (Matsuo, 2018). I am glad to design CASE STUDY REFLECTION 6 the methodology, and I feel that my managerial skills have been improved. Managerial skills are essential to being a good leader and reading the cases to provide solutions. The case study seemed complex initially, but I learned a lot from it till the end. It is concluded that the skills and development in the creativity comes with the time. The people need to focus and it is what I did in the case to complete my job. CASE STUDY REFLECTION 8 1 Reflection Name Institution Course Instructor Date 2 Overview Project management and consultancy skills entail the application of self in the process to greater extents than applying competencies in other forms of practice. In this light, the case study and group project immersed me in practical situations that required effective problem-solving, developing my project management and consultancy skills. The experience necessitated me to contribute effectively in defining the problem allowing progression to the next step. Participation in the learning activities provided opportunities to assess relevant project management and consultancy skills, enabling the identification of strengths and areas that require improvement. In this light, this reflection will analyze and evaluate my performance as part of the team, contributions to the consulting project focusing on the developed project skills and identify a development plan leveraging the project skills. Performance as Part of the Team In the group project and case study, my duties entailed discerning the main problem affecting the client to allow for progression to identify practical solutions to mitigate it. Consultation requires operation on two levels, the cognitive part, which entails discerning the problem, and the emotional part, which entails the consultant and the client sensing feelings towards each other (Chapter 2, n.d., pp 13). The group project and case study allowed me to improve the consultation's cognitive and emotional segments, improving my problem-solving approach. Furthermore, it is essential to engage approaches that mitigate tension and resistance and foster collaboration and acceptance (Chapter 2, n.d. pp 14). My performance revealed a narrow focus on the generation and sensing feelings for the client, limiting the efficacy of the problem identification. However, after collaborating with other team members in the group 3 project, I aligned my approaches with the best practices that foster practical individual consultancy skills to promote the process. Additionally, engaging valid data promotes problem-solving for client issues (Chapter 2, n.d., pp 18). Chapter 2 (n.d.) further indicates that valid data entails integrating personal and objective data to generate an extensive perception of the problem. In this light, this section's high performance indicated improved project management and consultancy skills. The high performance was evident in the stellar engagement of the client’s data, including the client’s feelings concerning the problem and the objective data involving events that stemmed from the problem. In other words, the project helped me improve my consultancy and project management skills by enhancing my objectivity in engaging credible and appropriate data to discern the problem. The group project and case study also enabled me to evaluate my performance in terms of effective contribution to promoting solutions to the problem. Most organizations focus on the technical problem neglecting the people’s problems even though they are vital (Chapter 2, n.d. pp 20). Before collaborating with my teammates, my consultancy skills were lacking since I engaged a narrow focus akin to organizational approaches in most facilities reflecting on the poor performance in discerning the problem. However, the case study and group project collaboration allowed me to improve my consultancy and project management skills by enabling me to engage in a third-party approach. This approach facilitated consideration of the people and process underpinnings of the problem, reflecting on high performance in duty accomplishment as part of the team. Contributions to the Process 4 The case study and group project allowed me to contribute significantly to solving the client’s problem and reinforcing the client-consultant relationships. The basis of consultation work entails interpreting the required knowledge and discerning the problem to ensure the elimination of the problem (Devinney and Nikolova, 2004, pp 3). The researchers further indicate that the outsider position of the consultant promotes resistance and tension in the clientconsultant relationship (Devinney and Nikolova, 2004, pp 3). in this light, my contributions leveraged the development of stellar client communication skills, which enabled the team to develop an effective client-consultant relationship since my ideas reconciled with the client’s perception of the problem. This significant contribution, including reflective conversations with the client, allowed successful interaction and the development of a practical problem-solving approach. Consultants can successfully solve the clients’ issues and enhance operational performance by focusing on the complexity and variety of their interpretations (Devinney and Nikolova, 2004, pp 14). My contributions enhanced the complexity of the problem interpretations by focusing on the company’s unsustainable growth, which other teams did not flag as an issue plaguing the client. Therefore, I developed skills that enabled the provision of a new language and way of thinking, which allowed the team to challenge the conventional way of thinking, facilitating the development and implementation of innovative and evidence-based solutions. In other words, my contributions entailed sharing new knowledge and emerging perspectives to enable the client and the team to understand the nature of the problem. Client engagement and interaction require the enhancement of individual consultancy skills. Active listening and assessment of client statements deviating from conversation monopolization enable the effective formation of client-consultant relationships (Lewis, 2015, pp 5 99). this rapport enables the client to be comfortable and express objective and personal data. Therefore, my contributions leveraged developed skills in creating rapport with the client and entailed conducting local research concerning the client’s organization to expand my knowledge concerning the background of the problem streamlining the consultation process. The group project improved professionalism and research by necessitating me to focus on proactive problem identification to enhance the provision of knowledgeable insights to clients in my future practice. Curuksu (2018) posits that individual consultancy and project management skills involve the objective and independent resolution of the client’s problem, analyzing the problem, and implementing solutions. The author further indicates that organizations outsource consultancy services since it offers strategic and financial planning and serves as agents of change, leveraging the cultural and functional needs of the client (Curuksu, 2018, pp 4). Thus, my contributions reconciled with productive individual consultancy and project management skills by considering the functional and cultural needs of the client to define rapid growth, inefficiencies in the supply chain, reduced margin due to high costs, significant product quality issues, and the size of the company as underpinnings to the main problem plaguing the client. This practical assessment of the problem facilitated the team to serve as agents of change with solid backgrounds concerning the issue. Project Skills and Development Plan The group project conferred valuable opportunities that highlighted my strengths and areas of improvement regarding individual consultation and project management skills. The project's participation and contributions enabled me to identify skills that enhance my consultancy, which involved being an agent of change, communication, active listening 6 assessment of problems- strategy, research, and engagement in valid data during problemsolving. However, my skills were lacking in terms of limited consideration of clients’ feelings and narrow focus, similar to deviating from an outsider’s perspective. In this light, the development plan will motivate me to improve my consultancy strategy by focusing on the emotional side of the client and engagement of the broad outsider perspective. The development plan will exploit the technological advancement to connect with consultancy experts to widen my knowledge concerning effective strategies that consultants should engage in to enhance client-consultant relationships and practical problem-solving. The approach will enable be develop insights that I will apply during future client interactions to enhance the consultancy process. Interaction with diverse clients is also a vital development strategy that will improve my consultancy skills since it will allow me to acquaint myself with the relevance of the third-party perspective as relevant project skills that will promote effective resolution of client problems. Furthermore, continuous engagement of mentorship approaches from more experienced faculty and colleagues will enable me to refine my project skills and reinforce my strengths in communication and research, which are primary skills that every consultant leverages to enhance effective performance. Since client satisfaction requires holistic resolution of the problem to ensure elimination, the development plan will entail improving problem-solving and evidencebased decision-making, focusing on improved exposure to consultation scenarios, and focusing on specific consulting roles to enhance the integration of communication, strategy, and research skills. Conclusion 7 Immersion in practical hands-on scenarios using the case study and the group project allowed me to appreciate that for effective performance as a consultant; it is vital to enhance individual consultancy and project management skills to foster client satisfaction and improve client-consultant relationships. The beginning of the collaboration was challenging due to the lacking consultancy skills reflecting on the substandard performance in the team project. However, continuous collaboration and proactive interaction with the case allowed the development of individual consultancy and project management skills, facilitating improved performance and contribution to a holistic problem-solving approach. 8 References Chapter 2, n.d. uncertainty

How do you convey oral and written information and respond
to questions and challenges?
How do you persuade others to do something, or adopt a point
of view, to produce desired results and take action in which the
dominant influence is one’s own conviction rather than the
influence of other’s opinions
How do you systematically arrange your own work and
resources as well as others to accomplish tasks efficiently; and
the extent to which you anticipate and prepare for the future?
How do you gather information; understand relevant technical
and professional information; effectively analyse data and
information; generate viable options, ideas and solutions; use
available resources in new ways, and generate and recognise
imaginative solutions?
How do you consider the needs of others, participate as a
member of a group and be aware of the impact and implications
of decisions relevant to others?
How do you take on the responsibility for providing
focus to a team and develop team members?
How do you originate and maintain a high level of activity, set
performance standards and persist the achievement, and express
desire to advance in diverse situations under varying degrees of
pressure, opposition and disappointment?

MY CURENT COMPETENCIES
COMPETENCY

MY EVALUATION

1. Communication
My oral and written communication skills are good and I
can communicate perfectly with team members. I respond to
questions and challenges by engaging in a conversation on
the topic.

2. Influencing others

I have great influence on others in my area of work. I have
the required knowledge from research that helps me be of
great influence to others.

3. Organising and Planning
I plan and organise my work on a weekly basis. That helps
me keep track of my progress and prioritize tasks.
4. Problem solving
I do not have problem solving experience in the area of
supply chain, quality issues and marketing. Research and
help from colleagues will help me gain more knowledge.

5. Team work and
consideration for others

I actively contribute to teamwork and ensure other
members’ opinions are considered. Not everyone is active
but as a team I ensure each member is given a chance.

6. Leadership
I am not much of a leader and consider being a follower.
Focusing on the group’s objectives help in leading the team
to the right direction.

II. My action plan
What am I trying to do? What is stopping me? What can I do about it? Who knows what I
am trying to do? Who cares about what I am trying to do? Who else can do anything to help?
Complete the table below to determine what the key areas for development will be over
the next few months/term, what actions will you take to facilitate the areas for development, clearly
identifying who will help you in this. Consider carefully anything that may constrain or seek to
prevent you from achieving this goal and how you will work around this and finally provide
yourself a timescale or some interim measures and timescales by which you will have addressed
this action.3

III. My reflective journal4
Now you have completed your action plan you need to develop the skills of reflective
practice in order to do this you are advised to start by maintaining a learning journal. When
completing your learning journal focus on the central areas of your life like – personal, academic
and professional, for example - Reactions to personal reading and study habits, Objectives and
how they have been addressed and achieved, My position in the team, Team dysfunctions, etc.
Looking back over your last working week, take one experience that stands out for you,
this can be either positive or negative, and using Gibbs reflective cycle: describe the event,
explain your feelings at the time, evaluate and analyse the experience and finally draw up an
action plan from the event.
The reflections will be based on:
Week 2 – My first impressions on the module
Week 3 – Preparing for the pitch. Team interaction.
Week 4 – Preparing for the pitch. Team interaction.
Week 5 – Preparing for the pitch. Team interaction.
Week 6 – Your presentation. Client engagement.
Week 7 – Working on my individual report.

internal project. The project turned out to be successful with effective
communication and team work.
I felt that I have improved a lot in my leadership skills. I realized I am
capable of being a leader and achieving the team’s objectives.
