Description
Write a two to three (2-3) page paper in which you:
- Recommend at least three (3) specific tasks that could be performed to
improve the quality of datasets, using the Software Development Life Cycle
(SDLC) methodology. Include a thorough description of each activity per each
phase. - Recommend the actions that should be performed in order to optimize record
selections and to improve database performance from a quantitative data quality
assessment. - Suggest three (3) maintenance plans and three (3) activities that could be
performed in order to improve data quality. - From the software development methodologies described in the article titled,
“Process-centered Review of Object Oriented Software Development Methodologies,”
complete the following.- Evaluate which method would be efficient for planning proactive concurrency
control methods and lock granularities. Assess how your selected method can be
used to minimize the database security risks that may occur within a multiuser
environment. - Analyze how the verify method can be used to plan out system effectively and
ensure that the number of transactions do not produce record-level locking while
the database is in operation.
- Evaluate which method would be efficient for planning proactive concurrency
Your assignment must follow these formatting requirements:
- Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch
margins on all sides; citations and references must follow APA or
school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional
instructions. - Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s
name, the professor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and
the reference page are not included in the required assignment page length.

Prison System in The US Discussion Reply
When I think of the word justice, the word balance also comes to mind. This may be due to the fact that I picture the Lady of Justice statue when hearing the word justice. The statue depicts a blindfolded woman holding a balance in one hand and double-edged sword in the other. Her blindfold represents the absence of prejudice and corruption, her balance represents the value in weighing and considering all evidence, and her double-edged sword represents the ability of justice to rule against either a defendant or plaintiff once evidence has been presented (Heather & Little 2020). In a perfect world, justice serves, protects, and punishes in all the right places. However, this world is very much so imperfect. The things that the Lady of Justice statue represents are what justice is supposed to be, but in today’s criminal justice system, the true meaning of the word justice has been blurred. Social justice is something that worldwide, still needs a lot of work... The fact that we have yet to reach true social justice bubbles over and contributes to the flaws we have in our criminal justice system. Our criminal justice flaws in the U.S. start with our police force. Quota-based policing; demographic profiling; and racial profiling is where a lot of criminal injustice originates. Innocent people are profiled and arrested every day in unjust situations. Injustice then follows its victims through the court systems and into the vast American jail system. According to a press release from 2020, “The American criminal justice system holds almost 2.3 million people in 1,833 state prisons, 110 federal prisons, 1,772 juvenile correctional facilities, 3,134 local jails, 218 immigration detention facilities, and 80 Indian Country jails as well as in military prisons, civil commitment centers, state psychiatric hospitals, and prisons in the U.S. territories.” (Sawyer & Wagner 2020). Of the 2.3 million people incarcerated, it is estimated that between 1% and 5% are actually innocent; that gives us a low-end estimate of more than 20,000 people, and at the higher end, over 100,000 (Haavik 2021). People are being locked away for “crimes” that are hardly punishable, pleading guilty to crimes they didn’t commit to avoid the possibility of more harsh convictions if they lose a “not guilty” plea, are receiving unfair sentences, and are having their reputations ruined for life. The prison system in the U.S. is indeed, in need of a serious reform. While there is a need for the incarceration of truly dangerous criminals and consequences for breaking the law, there is also a need for systems to be put in place to help lower the rate of recidivism. As reported by the World Population Review, “The United States has some of the highest recidivism rates in the world. According to the National Institute of Justice, almost 44% of criminals released return before the first year out of prison. In 2005, about 68% of 405,000 released prisoners were arrested for a new crime within three years, and 77% were arrested within five years.” (World Population Review 2021). Improving substance abuse treatments (alternative and/or integrated) and providing education during incarceration would be great places to start in the effort of reducing recidivism.

Case Study: Substance Use and the Adolescent
Over the past decade, cases of substance related disorders have appeared more prevalent in society. From the mental health perspective, research has shown an increase in cases of substance related disorders, particularly with adolescents. This increase has prompted further investigation into adolescent risk and resilience factors, as well as accuracy in diagnosis and appropriate treatment plans. Yet, in cases of adolescent substance use, further investigation is still needed concerning notification rights of parents, legal authorities, and/or case workers. For this Application, review the client case study and additional learning resources. Consider the characteristics of the client. Which specific characteristics might you consider important in developing a diagnosis? Consider your rationale for assigning particular diagnoses on the basis of the DSM-5. This is a Collaborative Learning Community (CLC) assignment. Before beginning this assignment, each group should submit a
filled-in copy of the CLC Agreement Form. Each CLC team will design a correlational study, groups will need
two variables with at least five sets of data. between these two
variables: time spent playing video games and aggression. Then in 500-750 words, do the following: Create a hypothesis for the group’s study. Consider the
hypothesis and how the group will define operationally and measure
the variables. Describe how the group will obtain a random
sample of participants. Assume the study produces a
correlation of .56 between the variables. Analyze three possible
causal reasons for the relationship. Submit an SPSS output

For some, playing video games is not necessarily considered a concern, but should it be? Video game usage can present problems depending on the types of games, how often they are played, and for how long. Added concern associated with video games are the contents within those games played; do they promote violence. If violent video games are played excessively it raises the question of how children’s behavior will be impacted? Is aggressive/violent behavior expected? Using random sampling researchers are able to identify participants from a large population of interest. According to Witte & Witte (2013), random sampling is a process in which a representative subset of a target population is selected; this process guarantees everyone in the population of having a chance at selection. Blindly drawing names or numbers, or use of a random number table are ways to narrow down the population and from this, sample participants are selected. It is important for the samples characteristics of a study to be described and be sure not to overgeneralize the findings to populations that may differ from the sample used in the research (Sigelman & Rider, 2003). The sample for this study will be obtained from four elementary schools within the school district. Participants will be males in the 5th grade. The population of males within the school district is 195. To select the sample, a list of names for all 5th grade male students will be received from the Districts School Board. All male, 5th grade students will be listed and identified by a consecutive number next to their names. Utilizing a random number table there will be a selection of 76 5th grade males for the study. (Laerd Dissertation, 2012)The study will be conducted using survey method. The survey will consist of questions to be answered by the parent(s). Questions asked will first be demographic related; age of parents, two parent or single parent household, ethnicity, annual household income. Additional questions to be asked; how many gaming systems are in the home, how may games does the child possess, list the games played most, how many of the games owned are violent (towards humans or animals, to include shooting, hitting, containing graphic content and language), how many video game upgrades are done monthly and how many video game downloads are done monthly, during the week how long does the child play video games (minutes/hours), during the weekend how long does the child play video games (minutes/hours), and how likely is your child to exhibit any form of aggression (ex. hitting, throwing, pounding, kicking, stomping, foul language, and so on) after playing violent video games (Likert scale of 1-5; not likely, somewhat likely, likely, very like, and extremely likely). The variables (time spent playing violent video games and behaving aggressively) have created a fairly moderate correlation of .56. Based on the strength of the correlation, the amount of time children spend playing violent video games can be recognized as a reason they behave aggressively. Is this really the case, or are there other justifications for such a correlation? The correlation may exist when children already have an aggressive behavior; leading to likelihood of violent video games being played and an excessive amount of time doing so. The correlation may exist due to other external factors; such as a family environment of aggression. Children have the tendency to model what is portrayed before them (from video games or real life). Lastly, the correlation may exist when a child is trying to compensate for lack of attention or neglect from parent(s). The aggression can stem from the neglect and the excessive playing of violent video games. The correlational study is effective in suggesting a cause and effect of a relationship, but without the follow-up of a true experiment a relationship cannot be proven.
