Aubrey has a shelf full of books.  exactly 1/3 are mysteries.  she has read 10 of these.  the number of mysteries aubrey has read is greater than 1/5 of the number of mysteries and less than 1/4 of the mysteries on the shelf.  Which could be the number of books on the shelf?  a. 120  b. 142  c. 147 d. 150

120 is the number of books on the shelf if Aubrey read exactly 1/4 of the mysteries ( but in the problem it says she read less than 1/4)

150 is the number of books on the shelf if Aubrey read exactly 1/5 of the mysteries (but in the problem it states she read more than 1/5)

142 is not divisible by 3, so ignore,

only 147 is divisible by 3 and fit the problem.
