Pollution is the introduction of harmful substances into the environment which is
hazardous to both human beings and living organisms. Environment entails essential elements;
water soil and water which support the habitation of humans and living organisms so, pollution
of environment means contamination of water, air, and soil. Causes of water, air, and soil are
numerous are stipulated below.
One major air pollutant is exhaust gases from engines of planes and vehicles. Fossil fuel
used in operating both vehicles and planes and in the process they release harmful gases into the
air. Exhaust gases entail; nitrogen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide soot, and many more
dangerous gases. These exhaust gases form smog seen in most cities which is a menace to human
health. Exhaust from factories and a home equipment engine is also harmful to the air because
they are operated using fossil fuel. Agricultural chemicals also contribute to contamination of the
air, use of excessive pesticides, herbicides and insecticide escape into the air. Fertilizer dust also
pollutes the air. Natural causes of air do occur also for instance; volcanic eruptions, forest fires,
wind erosion, pollen dispersion and evaporation of organic compounds, despite that it happens
rarely in parts of the world its effects are tremendous than human causes.
Water pollution is life, and its contamination causes a huge impact in both humans and
any other living organism. Actually, no one can live without water. Causes of water pollution
are; industrial waste, mining activities, sewage and wastewater, oil spillage, burning of fossil
