I asked This Question i few minutes ago, but i forgot to add some information. So i have to create a scale drawing using a proportion & ratio i believe, and i must include 4 pieces of furniture. my room is 10 x 11

i am using graph paper. and its 4 Squares per inch, 10 1/2 in X 8 in

                                                                                    (26.7 cm x 20.3 cm)

so what scale am i using? and why

Thanks -

All you need to do to create a proportional model is divide both dimensions by the same number. For example, your room dimensions(assuming feet) can be scaled down to any scale factor you wish but first, to make things easier, convert them to inches. Your dimensions are now: 120 x 132 inches. Divide that by twelve an you get again 10 x 11 except they are inches. You have a scale factor of twelve now you can use that scale factor with your other pieces of furniture.

***Convert from feet to inches first********

Hope this helped :-)

Hey, i have another question, you said the scale that i am using is 12 thats in inches or squares?

Don't think of your scale factor as inches or feet it's just a ratio.

But if it will help you to visualize think 1 inch for every twelve inches. So for every inch drawn in the new drawing that would equal 12 inches in the actual object.

Good luck :-)
