1. Ionization reaction: H2O <==> (H+)  + ( OH-)

K_w = [H+] * [OH-] is the product of the concentrations. If pure water was taken, the concentrations [H+] and [OH-] should be equal, so [OH-] = sqrt{K_w} = 1.21 * 10^{-7} and pOH = - log([OH-]) = 6.92.

2. NaHCO3 (aq)  + H2O (l) <==> Na+ (aq) + H3O+ (aq)  + CO3{2-}  (aq) - acidic solution

pH = - log([H3O+]) and [H3O+] = 10^{-pH} = 10^{-4.32} = 4.79 * 10^{-5}.
