Description of the Research Method
The research method considered for the dissertation is the mixed method, a technique in
research methodology that integrates both the qualitative and the quantitative research (Teddlie,
& Tashakkori, 2009). The quantitative method provides an opportunity for utilizing close-ended
questions through data collection tools such as questionnaires, used for collecting specific data
from the respondent. On the other hand, the qualitative method comprises open-ended questions
that allow researchers to gathers vast information in form of descriptions and narrations through
in-depth interviews, observation and focused group discussions with the participants. A mixed
method provides a better comprehension of the problem under investigation as compared to
utilizing either quantitative or qualitative as a stand-alone study method. Besides, a mixed
method also provides a room for triangulation.
