I am trying to write an essay on gender criticism in the book Othello and i am having a hard time trying to find some really good ones to write about.

You can write about how women are used as a possesion. Desdemona is treated like a bought wife as the duke tells Othello to use her well. Othello later states to Desdemona  that the "purchase"has been made", signifying that she was purchased through marriage. Iago also treats his wife Emelia lowly, insults her, and eventually killing her having suspected an affair with Othello.

There are more women as submissive or powerful. If you need more or if you want me to construct the essay let me know.
