How large a sample would the researcher need to estimate the mean body temperature to within 0.1 degrees with 98% confidence?

Count = 58    Mean=98.896    Median=98.400      MidRange=98.600    StdDev=0.8175     Range=2.800   IntQRange= 1.050

The answer is 362 (rounded to the nearest whole number)

How did they get this answer?  Please show me the steps.

sigma= 0.8175

tabular value = 2.326348  from normal tables

P(z < 2.326348) = 0.99

P( -2.326348<z < 2.326348) = 0.98

margin of error = 0.1

margin of error = tabular value * sigma /sqrt(n)

sqrt(n) = (2.326348 * 0.8175)/(0.1)=19.01789

n = 19.01789 * 19.01789 =361.6803 = 362 rounded to nearest integer.

I have used exact value here

Normally we use 2.33 instead of 2.326348

The the answer is (2.33* 0.8175/0.1)^2 = 362.8168 =363
