Social Media Marketing Plan
Introduction
Technology has become a crucial part of the world and more son businesses. A study
conducted in 2010 on Social Media Marketing revealed that 67% of businesses intend to enhance
their use of social media in their marketing strategy through social media channels such as
Facebook, blogs, as well as Twitter. As more organizations incorporate social media in their
marketing plans, more weight should be placed on the need for having a social media strategy
(Barry, 2017). Without developing a social media strategy, a business is bound to be drawn in
social media time sink. As a result, this brings in the question of how to develop a social media
strategy. There are primarily seven steps that a business must take in order to design an effective
social media marketing strategy.
The steps for an effective social media campaign include:
Step 1: Auditing present social media presence
As Beth Comstock states, it is important to know thyself, your customers, and then
innovate. Before focusing on where a business is headed, it is important to know where the
business currently stands. The areas to take into consideration when auditing the business’s
social media presence include: networks currently active, networks optimization (bio, photo &
cover images, URL, and so forth), networks earning most value, company’s profile compared to
competitor’s profile. This step is important as it helps a company identify loopholes in its current
social media presence. This step helps identify the areas that require adjustments to meet the
company’s social media demand (Barry, 2017). It also helps prevent introduction of steps that
already enforced by the company. As a result, this first step is the most important part of
