Question description

Discussion:Ocean Currents

You learned how Earth's rotation affects ocean currents. What would happen to the currents if the planet stopped rotating?

  • Describe how surface ocean currents would change if the earth did not rotate.Be sure to explain why you think this change would occur.

Look at Karen's post:

I believe that if the earth stopped rotating, the currents would change.Instead of wind moving in a curvy way, it would move in straight lines between the poles and equator. This would affect the motion of the currents. They would also flow in more of straight lines.
