3x=2y+27

2x+5y+1=0

x=?

 3x = 2y + 27

  2x + 5y + 1 = 0

by rearranging the equations

3x-2y=27................ equation 1

2x+5y=-1................ equation 2

  To eliminate y, let’s multiply the first equation by 5 and the second by 2.
 5*(3x – 2y = 27) =>   15x – 10y = 135
 2*(2x + 5y = -1) =>   4x + 10y = - 2
By adding these 2 equations we will get

 19x = 133
  x = 7

  Note: Substituting the value of x in equation 1, we can compute the value of y.
  3(7) – 2y = 27
  21 – 2y = 27
  -2y = 6
  y = -3
