People consume alcohol for various reasons - socially - with friends, family etc, for special occasions or routinely and the worst case - alone to beat depression-like states or relieve tension. To combat addiction - awareness needs to be raised about side effects and addictive property of alcohol.

High levels of alcohol consumption are associated with an increased risk of alcoholism, malnutrition, chronic pancreatitis, alcoholic liver disease and cancer. In addition, damage to the central nervous system and peripheral nervous system can occur from chronic alcohol abuse
