Question description

The readings this week set up a contrast between the experience of working class women in rural and in urban settings. The implication is that forward progress comes from the city and not from the farm.  However, the situation of all these women is more similar than one might at first think.  Most women work both inside and outside the physical confines of house or apartment, and they work long hours.  Sound familiar?  For this brief discussion let's move beyond "women's role" to women's condition, and compare/contrast the overall condition of working women in rural and urban areas.  Your own relevant personal anecdotes of your grandparents or other elders may help this conversation.
