Sinoatrial node- a small body of specialized muscle tissue in the wall of the right atrium of the heart that acts as a pacemaker by producing a contractile signal at regular intervals
•Purkinje fibers- are a unique cardiac end-organ
•Electrocardiogram- a record or display of a person's heartbeat produced by electrocardiography
•The pulmonary circuit- movement of blood from the heart, to the lungs, and back to the heart again. De-oxygenated blood leaves the heart, goes to the lungs, and then re-enters the heart; deoxygenated blood leaves through the right ventricle through the pulmonary artery
• From the left ventricle, oxygenated blood enters through the aorta and is distributed throughout the arteries of the systemic circuit. Systemic circulation refers to the part of the circulatory system in which the blood leaves the heart, services the body's cells, and then re-enters the heart
•Aorta- the main artery of the body, supplying oxygenated blood to the circulatory system. In humans it passes over the heart from the left ventricle and runs down in front of the backbone.
