MGT 485 University of Nevada Reno Bad Blood by John Carreyrou Book Report
i need help identifying the key theme of the book as well as the key theme of the book. also in what ways can you apply business ethics to the book? What are the strengths/weaknesses of the perspective/idea/model/concept presented throughout the book? below is the rubric for the assignmentYou will be asked to do a review-critique on one key themein the book, Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup. John Carreyrou). The review-critique of one key theme in the book counts towards 15% of your final grade, and review-critiques turned in late will not be accepted. The review-critique is due by November 16 by 1 p.m. in class, and you must email a copy directly to me at rafikb@unr.edu AND submit a copy of your paper on WebCampus (via the Assignments folder) before coming to class. The review-critique must be turned in at the beginning of the class, and must not exceed 7 typed pages ( excluding title page and appendices), double spaced, 12 font size Times Roman, 1 inch all around margins and a cover title page with only your name and the last four digits of your NSHE id. Always keep a backup copy of each review-critique. This review-critique should follow the following format by addressing the following questions sequentially: •What are the key points in this book? Be brief (1 page at most) •How does it relate to our text and classroom discussion?•What are the strengths/weaknesses of the perspective/idea/model/concept presented?•Does the writer have a specific bias? If so, what is it? •What counterarguments could you propose to challenge the writer’s viewpoint?•What have you learned from this book that is new?•What conclusion(s) about your own ethical behavior do you draw from this book?Within your review-critique, you must also make in-depth references to a recent topical, applied example that relates to the theme you are critiquing. Such an example must be pertinent to your assigned article, and you must demonstrate how your example adds to your review-critique. A full reference citation in APA style format must be included. Please see the rubric that I will use to grade all written assignments in the forms folder on Webcampus. A review-critique which is only a summary or which does not include an applied example will receive no grade, but can be revised and resubmitted for up to a maximum of 65% of the grade provided it is returned at the next class meeting after the paper is mailed back. Students are strongly encouraged to use relevant material4 from the Bad Blood book, one or more readings from the course syllabus or from any academic journal (e.g. Harvard Business Review, Journal of Business Ethics, etc.)to back up their review-critique. Whatever article or book you use to flesh in your review-critique, please cite or paraphrase properly, and list it in your reference section. You must email me a Word (not pdf or Google docs) copy of your review-critique at rafikb@unr.eduand also submit a copy to the Assignments Folder on line by November 16 by 1 pm. Please don’t email it via Webcampus. Any cheating (by copying somebody else’s review-critique or plagiarizing) will lead to university follow-up and disciplinary measures.
