When an if / then statement is true, it is NOT necessarily true that the
converse is true. Give an example of an if / then statement that is
true, but its converse is NOT true. Discuss the reasoning behind your example.
Take the statement "All bats are mammals" which can be restated as the conditional "If something is a bat, then it is a mammal". The contrapositive is not true, however. "If something is not a mammal, then it is not a bat."
