Affirmative action is a non-discrimination rule that was passed in the 1960s by Presidents
John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson to undo racial discrimination through giving
preferences to the minority groups. The idea behind the program was to help minority groups
including blacks to gain representation in the white majority job market. There are currently
different types of the program which has evolved into a policy against discrimination of any
kind.
I believe that the affirmative action is still a fundamental tool to fight for equal
opportunities as well as equal access for all. Although its opponents associated affirmative action
