Suppose 2 people are selected at random from a group that consist 6 men and 4 women. what is the probability that both of them are women?

Nov 23rd, 2017

The total number of ways of selecting 2 people is 10 is 10C2 =10*9/(2*1) = 45

Number of ways of selecting 2 women from 4 women is 4C2 = 4*3/(2*1) =12/2=6

P( that both are women) = 6/45 = 2/15= 0.1333

I hope the answer meets your expectations. If you need any further explanations, I am willing to provide them. I really care for my students. I do not normally go for bidding or prepaid questions. Only when I am sure of fulfilling the legitimate expectation of the students, I venture. Wish you all the best.
