the circumference of a circle is 11 pi. what is the are, in square inches, of the circle? express your answer in terms of pi

Apr 12th, 2015

The circumference C = 2 pi r, where r is the radius of the circle, hence, r = 11 pi / 2 pi = 11/2 = 5.5 in as it seems to be the unit in which C is measured.

The area of the  circle A = pi r^2 = pi 5.5^2 = 30.25 pi in^2  (approximately 95.0 in^2).

thank you.......what is the formula to find the answer?

Apr 12th, 2015

The formula to express the area of a circle in terms of its circumference will be

A = pi (C / 2 pi)^2 = C^2 / (4* pi)
