2x=12-3y

subsitute this value of 2x in the equation,2x-2y=2

12-3y-2y=2

12-5y=2

-5y=-10

now put this value of y in 2x+3y=12

2x + 3*2 =12

2x =6

x=3.....................................ANSWER

so x=3 and y =2

x+y=3+2

=5.........................................ANSWER
