Let's represent the width with x and the length will be 7/5x. Now we can set up an equation as:
x + x + (7/5x)+ (7/5x) = 24 Combine like terms
2x + 14/5x = 24 Subtract 4 from both sides will be:

10x+14x = 24*5multiply both sides by 524x = 120

x=120/24

Width=x=5ft

Length=7/5x=7/5(5) =7ftArea=length*width

Area=5*7=35 ft^2
