IMPORTANT ISSUES FACING AMERICA TODAY
America is one of the most developed countries worldwide. Compared to other countries,
America is ranked among the wealthiest and most developed countries. However, despite being
among the most prosperous countries in the world, America has some critical issues faced by the
government and its people. Amongst the significant problems faced by the country are; matters
concerned with the affordability of healthcare, addiction to drugs, immigration, inequality in the
economy, and climate change (Desmond, 2022). These are some of the critical issues the country
faces today and are yet to be fully addressed. Job opportunities and terrorism in America were a
massive threat to the country, but in recent years, this problem has been discussed and declined.
Even though the terrorism and job opportunity issues were addressed, this does not mean the
problems are over. Thus, the issues dropped but didn't become extinct, making them less essential
matters in America today. The critical issues facing America today have been addressed below.
To start with is healthcare affordability, whereby in the U.S, health insurance is more
expensive, and its acquisition is complicated compared to other countries such as Canada and other
European countries. Other European countries provide health coverage to all their natives, unlike
in the U.S, where private insurance is dominant. Medicaid and Medicare programs are mainly for
