You will never have everything presented to you when you are a junior manager/executive, but you are expected to take what you have and use your knowledge and skills to make decisions and to arrive at valid and accurate conclusions, which may and should include "thinking outside the box". Students will use for references other sources of information as well as the textbook. These sources should include business magazines and professional journals. Online sites such as Wikipedia, Portable MBA, Quick MBA are not acceptable references for case analysis in this course. c. Students should use any of the following magazines and publications as references: Barron’s, Business Week, Fast Company, Forbes, Fortune, Harvard Business Review, Wall Street Journal. Willis – The Vice President of Marketing and Sales for International Satellite and Images (ISI),
faces a dilemma in the satellite launch date proposal in a major satellite imagery contract with

ISI is one of the major satellite companies with the huge capability of building satellites
to image the world at a one-meter resolution. The industry is highly competitive because ISI has
major competitors in the United States, France, Russia, and Israel. ISI is currently negotiating
with Higashi Trading Company (HTC) for five-year satellite imagery licensing agreement
(Steven & Shawana, 2015). However, HTC had also met with representatives from other
competitor companies, namely Lockart and Global Sciences. Nevertheless, Jim believed ISI was
the front runner in the quest to sign HTC to a 10 million dollar annual contract. In their
negotiation, Jim was informed that the thermal stabilizer issue would delay the launch of the
satellite to about 18 months from the agreed launch date of 12 months (Steven & Shawana,
2015). Jim is concerned that the delay may set back their original launch date, thus resulting in a
major issue in the contract negotiation.
