What is the correct order of operations and the answer to this problem: two plus three times seven.

Apr 14th, 2015

2 + 3*7

The correct order of operation is

1st  division, 2nd multiplication, 3rd subtraction & last addition.

As here's no division operator, so we move to the next operator which is multiplication, then

= 2 + 21

As here's also no subtraction operator, so we move to the next operator which is addition, then

= 23

Hence    2 + 3*7 = 23
