1. Gilbert Clandon was blind to his wife's unhappiness and subsequent affair. Why
was he so oblivious to what was happening to his marriage? How could you
interpret this from the lens of feminist criticism?
Clanton cared nothing about what was happening to his family because he was too
absorbed in his work and had less time to give love to his wife. This made his wife bored all
the time, and she did not see the meaning of the marriage. I could interpret this as a denial of
marriage love to Clanton's wife because she deserves to be given by her husband even if he is
always busy at work.
