Step 1: Degree =3  and Leading Coefficient = -2

Step 2: Describe the behavior of the graph of q(x) as x arrow to the right +/- infinity.

q(x) arrow to the right                                as x arrow to the right - infinity

q(x) arrow to the right                                as x arrow to the right infinity

I cannot figure out how to describe the behavior for this polynomial.

The graph of q(x) has the same behavior for x → ∞ as its leading term –2x3.

Since

–2x3 → –∞ as x → +∞,     q(x) also → –∞ as x → +∞

–2x3 → +∞ as x → –∞,     q(x) also → +∞ as x → –∞
