Keystone Species play a substantially large part in environmental relations and ecological community. As such, reserve managers need to identify keystone species for conservation purposes. The manager need to understand how keystone species (such as Sea Otters) influence inter-specific interaction networks. Hence, the numbers and types of other species in the reserve can be monitored effectively by the managers.
