In paragraph 7, the words "nearly burst with laughter" mean that Coyote-

It means he laughed very hard (as if his stomach was about to burst) 

Another way of saying this would be a good belly laugh

Thankyou so much for you reply...Im just confused about one thing...But doesn't the word "nearly"  mean "almost" ...In this case coyote almost laughed very hard but didn't .......Another example, "Robert nearly fell down "  would mean that Robert was close to falling down but actually didn't..

Yes  you could say he laughed so much and hard that his stomach almost  burst - but it didn't actually burst
