a. 3 (x-5) =2x

3x-15 = 2x

3x-2x = 15

x= 15

b. I assume this is your second question

5-75k = 4(k+1)-3

           = 4k+4-3

5-75k  = 4k+1

-75k-4k = 1-5

-79k = -4

k =4/79

Please let me know if you have any questions and best me if you are satisfactory.

b. Oops !!!  I omitted the negative sign in the second question. PFB the answer...

-75k+4k = -7-5

-71k = -12

k =12/71

Please let me know if you have any questions and best me if you are satisfactory.
