What's the kinetic energy of an electron having de Broglie wavelength 430

nm ?

Compare with the energy of a photon having the same wavelength.

Can u pls check now?

Apr 17th, 2015

Says it is incorrect

Apr 17th, 2015

did u enter the correct value?

Apr 17th, 2015

do u have any choices?

Apr 17th, 2015

i entered .0461*10^-17 is that correct?

Apr 17th, 2015

no its .00461 *10^-17

Apr 17th, 2015

still says incorrect

Apr 17th, 2015

Please ignore my previous comment. I am sorry , Energy of photon is still the same= .0461 * 10^-17 . Use the first document only.

New Doc 29.pdf

Energy of electron, Ee = .000013 * 10^-19

Energy of photon, Ep = .0461 * 10^-17 = .000461 * 10^-19

For Comparison, I am not sure if they are asking for the difference in energies or the ratio

Ep - Ee =(.000461- .000013) * 10^-19

= .000448 * 10^-19J

If you are looking for the ratio of Ee/Ep = .000013/.000461

= .0281

so Ee = .0281Ep

If you need  Ep/Ee = 35.46

The method I used for calculation is correct.

Please let me if you have any questions.
