3)A stripe is painted at the level of the water when the raft is in the river.  If the raft drifts to the ocean (p=1025kg/m^3), will the stripe be above, below, or at the water level?

1) the fraction is (1000-800)/1000 = 20% 

2) 10*10 *4 = 20*20*V 

V = 1m/s 

3) the stripe will be above the water level, because the raft will emerge less into the water.
