Dramaturgy is an analytic sociological approach to understand the roles we play in every day life. It is vital for understanding day to day interactions by simplifying the roles we all play and determining where the "scenes" takes place (stage).
An example could be when you were at work. Your roles being your every day duties and the stage being the physical place you work.
