It accelerates a baseball from 0 m/s (V1) to 30 m/s (V2). If the baseball has a mass of .1 kg what is the angular velocity of the fly wheel (w2)?

Rotational kinetic energy of pitching machine= 1/2 I w1^2=1/2*9*30*30=4050 J

Kinetic energy of baseball =1/2mv2^2=1/2*0.1*30*30=45 J   ( if mass is 0.1kg)

so remaining   energy= 4050-45=4005 J

therefore,

4005=1/2*9*w^2

(4005*2)/9=w^2

w2=29.83  is the final angular velocity
