Overview
Since WTO was commissioned in 1995, it has focused its efforts on establishing the rules of
trade between countries. The main function of the organization is to ensure that trade flows
smoothly and open to benefit all members. WTO acts as a platform for negotiating trade
agreements and settling disputes whenever they arise. Australia has been a member of WTO
since 1995, and it was also a member of GATT (WTO, 2017). Australia has been an active
member exporting and importing products and services to other member countries. Australia has
played an active role and makes regular donations to help developing nations participate in the
