Bill is playing soccer and kicks the ball from ground level with an initial speed of 20 m/s in a direction of 30 degrees above the horizon. g=10m/s^2.. What is the magnitude and direction of the velocity vector when the ball hits the ground

vfh = vih * cos 30 = (20 sqrt of 3)  /2

vfv=vi *sin 30=10

vf=sqrt (vfh^2 +vfv^2)=20m/s

magnitude tan^-1(vfv/vfh)=30 degree

That does not match the choices that I have. Choices are

a) mag 15.6 dir 50

b) mag 10 dir 180

c) mag 15.6 dir 130

d) mag 10 dir 0
