Hazard management is one of the most critical managerial aspects in organizations of
different kinds. As an effective part of the risk management program, it is essential to develop a
management implementation plan for the execution of a regular hazard identification,
assessment, and control. Many uncertainties are surrounding the workplace, whereby you are not
sure of what event is likely to occur in the next moment or future. The possibility of the
occurrence of an event and the consequence or effect of an event are two major components
which characterize the extent of a risk. In hazard management, the idea is to reduce as much as
possible the probability of a hazard occurring and the adverse impacts/outcomes of the event.
This paper discusses the five-step process that Sistema’s warehouse should use in the
development of a hazard management plan.
The first step is the identification of the risk or hazard. This entails uncovering,
recognizing and describing the risks or hazards that may escalate within the organization.
However, in the identification of the hazard, it is important to understand the difference between
hazard and risk, in that a hazard is an event that can cause harm, whereas a risk is the probability
of that potential harm-causing event escalating. Hazard identification id did through collection or
