Can every even number greater than 2 be written as the sum of two primes?

Apr 21st, 2015

This problem is known as Goldbach's conjecture.

It states that:  every even integer greater than 2 can be expressed as the sum of two primes.

It is one of the best-known unsolved math problems in number theory. Accordingly to Wikipedia it is shown that it is true for up to 4*10^18 but it still remains unproven.

Here is an illustration:

Very nice. I guess I am smart like Goldbach. Can you solve it for me?

Apr 21st, 2015

It is a known unsolved problem in number theories. Best mathematicians are trying to solve it for a long time, to be precise - since 7 June 1742.................
