Intro and Thesis
I will argue that international students are finding it increasingly difficult to adapt to the new
environments provided by colleges and universities due to barriers that are leading to isolation
and psychology problems

International students find it difficult to integrate into the society because of issues that
within and beyond their control, as well as those caused by their counterparts in the host
nation.

A study conducted by Gareis, E. (2012) revealed that over 30 percent of international
students are unable to establish and maintains meaningful and social relationships with
Americans.

Although they are aware of the financial implications of the duration of their studies in
the U.S, a significant number of the students experience issues with accommodation and
feeding due to the failure of their parents and guardians to send them money when
needed.

Therefore, the need to dealing with social isolation, financial problems, and cultural
adjustment lead to emotional problems that create academic challenges for them (Wu,
Garza, & Guzman, 2015).
