Gang activity is perhaps the most destructive force in America. Community-oriented policing attempts to address some of the issues of gang life and how it impacts the quality of life in the community. For this week’s assignment locate a community-oriented policing program or a sub program within one that is attempting to deal with a gang problem. Community-oriented policing and gangs make an effort to look at the issues of gangs and
how the lives of these gangs affect the community’s livelihood. These gangs are widespread, and
for instance, in America, there is the Project Safe Neighborhood a public policy that aims at
reducing the gang crime and gun. The funds are set aside to hire state and federal prosecutors, to
provide training, distribute safety kits and also to develop support programs in the community
