Suppose for a moment that you are the counselor of a 14-year-old. She has a boyfriend, and although she hasn't said anything specific to you, you suspect that she may be on the verge of becoming sexually active.

This young lady needs to know the consequences of sexual activity:  pregnancy is a likely outcome, and she needs to take precautions to prevent an unwanted pregnancy.  She could make use of birth control pills and/or condoms.  She also needs to know that STDS are very likely, so she needs to know to use condoms to prevent this disease.  She also needs to know that teenage sexual activity can have an unwanted effect on her reputation, and it is difficult to repair this image.
