Are people born into criminal behavior, or do they learn it from their social environment? What do you believe is the strongest evidence for your position and why?

I do and at the same time i don't think that criminal behavior is something that can passed on genetically. I think it's absolutely something learned through a person's environment. People from poor upbringings are most likely to partake in criminal activity because most criminals are not affluent people. So the younger generation sees the older generation do criminal things and they copy what they see their role models do.

I also have a feeling that it could be a mix of both circumstances. Is there a gene that makes you more susceptible to addiction? Maybe there is but on the other hand if you are raised in an environment where stealing and addiction are viewed as normal and reoccurring then it's likely that a person would pick up on those norms and do them as well.
