I have a rectangular prism which has a total area of 69 cubic feet. We are missing the height.

The width of the prism is 1 ft more then the height. Also the lenght of the prism is 3 feet more then the height

Let h = height

Then, width = h+1  and length = h+3

volume = h(h+1)(h+3) = 69

h(h^2+4h+3) = 69

h^3+4h^2+3h-69 = 0

using root calculating program:

h = 2.944 ft
