When there is an "and" statement, you multiply the two probabilities. 

P(Head on coin) = 1/2. 

P(Number > 5 on a die) = 1/6, since the only number greater than 5 on a die is 6, which is 1 even out of 6. 


So the probability of both is 1/2*1/6= 1/12.
