The full discussion post question is:
How much of what you believe to be true have you taken on faith? That is, how much rests on the authority of a book, a teacher, parents, friends, or tradition telling you that something is true? Augustine thought most of what we believe to be true fell into this category of faith, and he didn't' mean only religious truths. If he is right, science itself would be based ultimately on faith-based beliefs (a.k.a science requires just as much 'faith' as religion) Do you agree and why?
