When natural disaster strikes, a social setting that uses the four MAPP assessments to
create a strategic model for dealing with the occurrence may face strategic challenges. In the four
MAPP assessments, the following are scrutinized; Forces of change, community health status,
the public health system and community theme and strengths (Fallon, Begun, & Riley, 2013).
After scrutinizing these aspects, the community is able to make out what is required to move
from their current situation to their desired target state and make out the strategic issues that
should be tackled to accomplish this.
In order of priority, the initial strategic challenge a community could be facing is the lack
of an agency that is well prepared to respond to a disaster immediately it occurs and reduce the
impact it may have on the immediate environment which includes the people. As the name
suggests, natural calamities are occurrences that man cannot evade but only come up with
efficient ways to recover from the impact. A good example of such calamities is the series of
hurricanes that recently hit the United States of America. Secondly, lack of enough resources to
