Discussion question

1. what about Performance Appraisals? What should companies do during this period of time? Should employees receive raises or increases? What are your thoughts?

2. Why is Training important? Without any training, how would an employee feel?

3.do you know any charismatic leaders? Are they good people or bad people would you say?

4.Do you agree? I wonder why more leaders are not considered transformational if the results are there? Or is it a skill that is not easily perfected do you think.

5.The federal government has investigated allegations that Walmart had engaged in bribery in Mexico, China, and Brazil. Walmart reacted with promoting internal policies aimed at ethical conduct. In 2014, Walmart issued a Global Compliance Program Report focusing on compliance in three areas: people, policies/processes, and systems. After implementing the program, at the end of the year, Walmart determined they had “achieved substantial progress.”

Do you think Walmart’s compliance-related performance standards, as described here, would ensure ethical conduct? Why or why not?

How, if at all, could Walmart apply these principles to strengthen its effort to promote compliance with legal and ethical standards?

Company’s Mission/vision for employees: As a beverage producing company, our vision
is to refresh people around the globe, inspiring happiness moments among them and making a
difference in places where everybody lives. One of the key ingredients to the company’s mission,
vision and values is the employee input. Our mission/vision for employees is to encourage an
open communication work environment and to leverage and solicit innovative ideas effectively.
The company engages in frequent dialogue, and this has enabled it to share success and
opportunities, promoting business strategies, increasing awareness, providing information and
soliciting employee’s opinions.
RECRUITING PROCEDURES
The company uses a selection process in picking individuals with relevant qualifications
to fill jobs in the organization. This varies depending on the position applied for as one process
cannot fit all the different roles in the company (Greiner, 2015).The major recruitment sources
include; college recruiting, media advertisement, E-recruitment, executive search firms,
employment agencies, special events recruiting and summer internships.
Due to the size of the company and the wide range of products it’s producing,
outsourcing will be applied. Some of the company’s functions can’t be handled in an in-house
department. The companies which will be hired must be able to do the job, and they are chosen
after keenly scrutinizing them through questioning their former or current clients. Some of the
outsourced functions include; installation of fridges, the supply of products and the companies
should be able to beat the deadline.
The company has laid the foundation of the approach to legal issues in its Corporate
Governance Guidelines and the charters of the Board of Directors committees. The board
