Solve the system. 9x^2- 5y^2 +41=0,8x^2 +4y^2=67

9x^2-5y^2=-41

8x^2+4y^2=67 by elimination method let us eliminate y by multipling the first equation by 4 and the second equation by 5

4(9x^2-5y^2)=-41x4

5(8x^2+4y^2)=67x5

36x^2-20y^2=-164

40x^2+20y^2=335

add the two equations

76x^2=171

x^2=171/76

x^2=2.25

x=1.5 or -1.5

when x=1.5

9(1.5^2)-5y^2=-41

20.25-5y^=-41

-5y^2=-61.25

y^2=-61,25/5

y^2=12.25

y=3.5 or -3.5
