A trapezoid has an area of 91 m. The height of the trapezoid is 7 m and the measure of one base is twice the height. What is the measure of the other base of the trapezoid?

Oct 20th, 2017

area of trapezoid=(a+b)/2  *h

since height=7, one base=2h, thus one base=14m

so 91 = (14+b)/2   *7, 91/7=(14+b)/2, 91*2=7*(14+b), 182=98+7b, 84=7b, b=12

so the other base of the trapezoid is 12m.
